WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF ORIYA MUSIC

KALINGA SANGEET PRATISTHAN is an Unique Organisation of its kind for the Research,Development and Advancement of Traditional Dance and Music of Orissa. Started in the year 2005 in the eve of Akhyaya Trutiya as a Small Organisation with the coopration of eminent personalities for upliftment of Traditional Oriya Songs like Oddisi, Chhanda,Choutisha, Champu and Folk songs with their Parmparika(Traditional) presentation.Eminent personalities in Music field, Poets, Writers, Educationists,Journalists & Social Workers inspired us to make this drive successful by extending their valuable advise,assistance and coopration. Guru Sanyasi Parichha and Guru Niranjan Sahu being the eminent Artists of AIR,Door Darshan and well known in the music and Dance world of Orissa Joined their hands becoming active member to make our aim successful.

Few Words

Orissa ia a State of India, one of the musical centers of the South Asia. In the 11th century, Odissi folk music was codified into a classical style, related to other styles of Indian classical music.Like Hindusthani and Karnataki systems, Odissi music is a separate system of Indian classical music and is having all the essential as well as potential ingredients of Indian Classical form. But it has not come to limelight due to apathy from the time of British rule in Orissa, want of its proper study, revival, research, propagation, etc. Despite the fact, the traditional music form could be saved and maintained in its pristine form. Thanks to the musicians those who lived/living with severe financial difficulties and struggling for minimum living requirements, to keep the Oddissi Music alive.
